So this is my website! As you can tell, it's under construction at the moment. Don't worry, I'll fix everything up nice and pretty very soon. Stay tuned!
This place is generally going to be a hub for me to post things that I want to have saved and/or viewed by the world at large. It's pretty uncommon for me to want that, but when it happens, it'll go here.
I decided to make this into my own website instead of posting things on more common websites (deviantart or instagram for art, tumblr for lengthy text posts, etc.) for a few reasons. The main one is that I think having my own website where I write all the code myself would be fun. Consider this my playground for web design! I'll be fucking with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript as much as I can just to see what I can do, and what cool effects can happen. Who knows what I'll end up doing?
The second reason is that I'll be able to quickly and efficiently back all of my data up from here. I don't think most of the aforementioned websites have intuitive ways of mass backing up all your data from them, which is a shame. People always say that if you put something on the internet, it's there forever. But people don't often realize just how ephemeral online content can be. Everyone who's been on the internet for a long period of time has had the experience of finding something cool, the original location disappearing, and never being able to find a copy again. I'd prefer for this not to happen to the content that I make. This isn't to imply that I think I'm hot shit and everything I make is worth saving. It's only to say that I want to save my own work. It's really up to you what, from here, deserves to be remembered, if anything.
So what sorts of things do I intend to put here? Well, basically whatever I want. It's my website. What are you going to do about it? Currently, I've been thinking about posting the art that I make. For example, the background to this very page! You'll be able to check that out, and it will be cool if you think that's cool. I also want to write things! Yes indeed, I want to put my thoughts down and just type words somewhere where other people can see the words that I've typed. I'll feel a little better if it's a bit out of the way and not thrown up in your face. One of my biggest insecurities is that I often feel like I'm a nuisance or an annoyance that other people have to put up with. I really don't want to be an annoying piece of shit, and so, by putting my pretentious bullshit thoughts on this here website, they won't be in your face! You'll actually have to want to know what I have to say in order to hear what I have to say. Amazing!
Well, I think that about wraps up what I want to use my website for. Obviously, things are subject to change according to my whims. So make sure you keep an eye out for future plans and changes. Maybe I should make this home page for my plans and things I want to try in the future. I dunno. We'll find out as we go along.
Oh, one more thing. I'm going to hide some secrets around this website. Cool little nuggets that you can find if you want to. Currently, there aren't any hidden easter eggs. And I would never lie to you. But it couldn't hurt to check, right?
